Avra is committed to making living on campus affordable to all students. Avra will work to incentivize housing cooperatives, encourage development that’s accessible to students of all incomes, and protect tenant rights.
Avra believes that nobody should feel unsafe living on campus, day or night. She’ll work to improve late night bus service on campus, increase lighting in the district, and work with the UW to address sexual assault on campus.
Avra believes passionately in working towards a 100% renewable energy future for Madison, and she will support efforts to do so.
Avra is a firm believer in the power of public transit and will work to make sure our transit routes can reach every person to ensure that residents have access to all Madison has to offer.
Earlier this year, Madison became the second city in Wisconsin to ban conversion therapy. Avra will continue this work with the Council to ensure that all residents feel safe and welcome in our city.
